Small Natural Pearl Necklace

I have a small natural pearl necklace purchased at Shreveport crump and Lowe in early 60's. 5 years ago someone there told me (without seeing it ) that naturalearls are not worth anymore than cultured. Your website seems to disagree. Could you clarify?

Thank you for your post.

Natural pearls are the rarest pearls in the world and are very valuable. Of course, the value depends on the size and the quality of the pearls. Because natural pearls are so rare, they are really worth what the next person is willing to pay for them at auction. As such, we recommend you take the following steps to certify your pearls and meet with an auction specialist as this would be your best venue for returning the most value.

We have written about this process here:

Estimating the value and selling natural pearls
